Your Spring Wardrobe

Bamboo Bras

As you have probably noticed, we are BIG fans of bamboo fabric at Positive Outlook Clothing.

There are so many reasons for this, one of these being that it is perfect for your spring wardrobe! Visit our website and previous blogs for more reasons as to why we love bamboo.

Your Spring Wardrobe: Why Is Bamboo Clothing Ideal?

It’s cool - in both senses of the word! Bamboo fabric is highly breathable, making it ideal to wear in warmer weather. It’s naturally thermo-regulating which means that it works with your body temperature to ensure comfort. This actually makes it a perfect material all year round as it keeps you cool in the heat and warm in the cold. It achieves this in a similar way to how merino wool does, mirroring the hollow microfibre structure, but avoiding the sometimes questionable practices of the wool industry.

It wicks away moisture - this means that it quickly moves moisture away from your skin. It is transferred to the outer layer of the garment, preventing you from feeling hot and sticky, and allowing the sweat to evaporate rapidly.

Odour control - as you may have guessed, the above will also help to minimise body odour. But that’s not all! The fabric is naturally antimicrobial, meaning that it fights the bacteria in sweat that creates an unpleasant smell. ‘Bamboo kun’ is what gives the material this incredible quality, this is the antimicrobial bioagent (something naturally occurring which kills, or inhibits the growth of, bacteria) that makes the plants resistant to pests as it grows, and means that no harmful pesticides need to be used for its cultivation.

UV rays - seeing the sun come out again is a delight, but it also means you need to take extra care of your skin. Bamboo fabric offers UV protection, which shields you from the harmful effects of the sun.

Organising Your Spring Wardrobe

As we move into the warmer months, you’re not going to need all of your big, thick coats and jumpers, so it’s time to reorganise your wardrobe and get some bits into storage. Well, maybe it’s best to keep a couple of things out, we are still in the UK, after all. This article will talk you through how to properly store your clothing. In short, you should:

 - Make sure everything is fresh, clean and completely dry.
 - Avoid ironing, you’ll just be wasting your time. Fold lines are inevitable.
 - Find the right storage options - don’t choose something that’ll damage your clothing or disintegrate. The majority of us do not have loads of free space for storing clothes, so vacuum packing might be a good shout. It’ll keep your clothes clean, dry and stop moths from snacking on them. It’s a shame that this solution utilises plastic (unlike us, who never have and never will). However, storing your clothes properly will make them last longer, and the odds are that not having to buy a load of new stuff because yours has been damaged, is going to be more environmentally friendly overall. Still, let’s hope that a more sustainable option is developed soon.
 - Make sure everything’s kept away from heat, light, or anything else that may be subject to temperature fluctuations.

Now you have room to breathe, think about what you want from your choice of clothing: something that lasts, doesn’t go out of style in a week and is appropriate for a range of different occasions… look no further! We designed our collection to offer effortlessly stylish clothing staples, which can be easily integrated into your existing wardrobe.

Even though we’ve been talking about your spring wardrobe and warmer weather, bamboo clothing is great in any temperature. It keeps you cool when it’s hot, and warm when it’s cold. We’ll talk about that more in a later blog though! But basically, bamboo clothing is perfect year-round, so you won’t find yourself packing it away as the seasons change.

Our Top Pick For Your Spring Wardrobe

If we had to pick one item for your spring wardrobe, we would opt for the scoop bralette (of course this is only the case if you wear bras). The shape makes it perfect to wear under dresses or tops with open backs, which are always good in warmer weather. It’s also great as a stand-alone piece to wear with jeans, a skirt or whatever you like.
